Looooooove fishing here, but the town makes it impossible to fish on it if you aren't living on the lake. The only two spots that I know of that are public are way too overfished. Add a public boat launch please or take down private property signs near the damn...the waterfront bank over there is not anybody's property. I understand the damn being closed, but not the waterfront bank.
Perfect in every way from June till Halloween
I went over here the other day to take a look at Wheeler Dam and the pond, and I got harassed and confronted by a snitty landowner who claimed that the entire lake, the dam, and the green space around the lake was all private property!!! Yeah right! “Private property” would entail your personal yard around your house, as well as any land that is explicitly posted as such. The green space across from the houses overlooking the lake may be owned by the people who own the houses, but it’s not legally private property unless it is posted as such. Additionally, dams are never private property - they are always owned by either the town or the federal Corps of Civil Engineers. My advice: don’t go near this area unless you live there.
